Officially there is no dipstick for the Q5. I looked up the 2012, 2103, and 2014 oil filler tubes and they all have the same part number 06H-115-610E. So unless something has changed with the oil level in the sump of the new 2014 2.0T, then the 06J115611E should work just fine.
2ndPassat. At least in my case, you can tell the DEF tank is full by noticing DEF fluid spilled around the tank by a sloppy VW mechanic. You can use an AdBlue Audi/VW DEF fluid bottle to fill the tank. If you don't have one, they run about $15 from an Audi/VW dealer. It's a bottle that holds 1/2 gallon of fluid.
The owners manual will indicate if your 2012 Q5 takes 0W-20, 0W-30, 5W-20, 5W-30 or 10W-30. Maybe they underfilled the transmission fluid. It expands when hot, so you might not have issues unless it's cold or on a slope. If you have the s-tronic transmission, there is a filter. Or if you have the multitronic CVT, then the filter changes aren't part of the serice schedule. You can change them, of course, but Audi doesn't consider it
